Ni: the fighter
Very quickly I discovered that hiring Ni was an absolute stroke of luck. She was the perfect complement with Chaa and Phasai in taking care of Martin. Ni and her family of course brought Taekwondo also into Martin’s life.

After Phasai had been with us for a few months, it became more and more clear that Martin needed more help and care. That is why Jeely came to us. She not only had a lot of nursing experience, but is also an organizational talent, knows all the “pay one and get two” offers in Thailand and thus made sure that we stayed within our budget. Unfortunately Jeely had to leave us soon for family reasons and we were looking for a replacement.
We had many applications and finally Martin and his team decided to hire Ni. Ni, a very sympathetic woman, but she had no nursing experience. She was on the national Taekwondo team and taught Taekwondo to children. Caring for Martin was a completely different world and I was initially not sure if she was up to that task. Very quickly I discovered that hiring Ni was an absolute stroke of luck. She was the perfect complement with Chaa and Phasai in taking care of Martin. The three of them, besides their daily duties, had a lot of fun together with Martin. And all three were always willing to go that extra mile for Martin. Their main goal was to make Martin laugh and they did that successfully.
Also Ni’s husband, Pooh and their adult daughter, Mars came over regularly for game nights or joint outings and so our little Chiang Mai family grew bigger and bigger. Martin was never alone, the love of his little Chiang Mai family carried him.
Ni and her family of course brought Taekwondo also into Martin’s life. He loved to train with her, her husband or daughter and wanted to try everything possible as much as he could.
On nights when Martin couldn’t sleep, it was Ni who would sit on his bed and meditate with him until he quieted down and found sleep.
