The current GBD (Global Burden of Diseases) study shows a dramatically increasing stroke-related disease burden worldwide. Most notable is the relative increase in younger age groups under 70. Stroke is the most common cause of disability in adults.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cf25037 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cf25037\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>My husband Martin also suffered this fate. Be Fast<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-30412b6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"30412b6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>You don&#8217;t have to be a medical professional to realize that the &#8220;Be Fast&#8221; rule always explains the first important actions to take when a stroke is suspected.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f970702 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f970702\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>&#8220;Be Fast&#8221;, means in German: be fast and direct your attention to:<\/p><p><strong>B<\/strong> for Balance &#8211; Does the person have problems with balance?<br \/><strong>E<\/strong> for Eyes &#8211; Does the person suddenly have difficulty seeing?<br \/><strong>F<\/strong> for Face &#8211; Does a sudden facial paralysis occur?<br \/><strong>A<\/strong> for Arms &#8211; Can the person lift both arms?<br \/><strong>S<\/strong> for Speech &#8211; Can the person repeat a given sentence?<br \/><strong>T<\/strong> for Time &#8211; If any of the above problems occur, call 911 immediately.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9d2a746 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9d2a746\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">2. Find a trusted person<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bedce0b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"bedce0b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The stroke patient needs someone by his or her side to support him or her, think critically, and make decisions with him or her if possible. A trusted person, whether a partner, parent, brother, sister, close friend, etc.-someone who will step up and have time to do the same.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-353c12f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"353c12f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">3. Have the names of the medications given<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1c71650 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1c71650\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Have them give you the names of the medications they want the patient to take. Ask what each medication is given for. Are there any intake instructions (e.g. fasting, 1 hr before breakfast, etc.)? If you don&#8217;t get any info, you can also get info from the net with the medication names.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-96762bb elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"96762bb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">4.
